Sometimes you get to stay in a host's house that is soooo relaxing that racing your bike just doesn't seem to make sense. Wanda and Kurtis Sakai cooked us up a breakfast of champions.
The backyard was amazing at their house, we even had a "meeting" in the hot tub with beer and pizza, post race of course.
Helga, the most docile guinea pig I have ever met, reminded me that just because you pet someone and think you are friends, they may still pee on you.

We won the race, won Team Classification, 2 of 3 Sprints and some art. That's some cash.
14 yr old Coryn Rivera shot sideways out of the charging 3-4 field to take 2nd place (far left). This tenacious teenager also raced the 1,2,3 race later in the day to a top 20, and then had a great showing at Ojai the next day to attack at one point, and place 11th in the 1-3 field.
Mike and Kim were exceptional hosts. Mike escorted us to the course like a true VIP.
